It is jammed packed with a versatile range of activities to suit everyone’s taste.  Explore Salthill and its beaches and take a leisurely stroll along the prom. If you love nature trails and walks, Terryland Forest Park (close by to Maldron Hotel Sandy Road) has numerous heritage and woodland walking trails, a picnic area and more.

Walks & Nature Trails
For a bigger adventure, visit Renville Park on the outskirts of the city. It has a mixture of attractive walks through its woodlands and farmland and a beautiful way along by the sea. If you have a day to spare and want to see more and have a true love for nature,  Connemara National Park is certainly a must visit. There are thousands of acres of parkland covering very scenic mountains, woodlands, grasslands, heaths, and bogs.
From Connemara you can visit the three Aran Islands, Inis Mor, Inis Meain and Inis Oirr.

Historic Sites
If you love to learn the history and past about a city, Galway’s past is brought to life on its street’s  and the wider county with a wealth of exciting heritage sites, castles, places of worship and lots more to explore. There are many tours you can take to discover all about its landmarks like Lynch’s Castle and the Claddagh before enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of Galway Cathedral and St Nicholas’ Collegiate Church of Ireland. If you have a day to spare be sure to experience the cultural site of as Kylemore Abbey in Connemara.

Wild Atlantic Way
Take yourself a little further by exploring the Wild Atlantic Way. Imagine driving along the edge or Western Europe with beaches, harbours, stunning views, while you take a break and experiencing the spray of the sea salt and peering over the sheer cliffs that is on offer. This is all part of the Wild Atlantic Way and Galway is the only city along this costal route. It can be driven in whole or in part taking hours or days depending on your route but it has a host of magical gems.

Galway City
After choosing one of the above there is no doubt, you will be due a rest so why not check out the Spanish arch which is only a few minutes from the hotel with its collection of signature cafes, pubs and restaurants you will be well rewarded.
