The Comedy
Róisín Dubh has for many years been the home of the best comedy in Galway and is listed as one of the top 10 comedy venues in Ireland. Many comedy acts including Tommy Tiernan, Stewart Lee and Rich Hall have performed their stand-up comedy in the Róisín Dubh. Over the years comedy lovers have been able to see some of the best comedy performances and legendary shows. Róisín Dubh is one of the driving forces behind the Galway Comedy Festival that runs for a week in October each year in Galway.  Róisín Dubh has seen many new comedians starting out including Jack Whitehall.

The Music
Strange Brew is a one of Ireland’s longest running club nights. Running every Thursday night, it provides a platform for many alternative artists who aren’t given the opportunity to showcase their music in front of a live audience. It also helps artists to create a name for themselves, receiving recognition for their performances and also a place where their fans can come to see them.  Many artists including Le Galaxie and Two Door Cinema Club started out by playing free shows at Strange Brew in Róisín Dubh.
Róisín Dubh also provides selection of well-known artists to other venues across Galway including Sea Point Ballroom in Salthill and the Town Hall Theatre. They have brought acts including Ed Sheeran, Franz Ferdinand, James Vincent Mc Morrow, Villagers, Josh Ritter, The Coronas, The Saw Doctors and many more.

The Silent Disco
Róisín Dubh is home to a silent disco every Tuesday night during the college year, proven as a popular night with queues each Tuesday. Each attendee receives headphones to listen to music at their own request and dance their night away. Each bank holiday Sundays throughout the year Róisín Dubh brings its silent disco to the streets of Galway, offering locals and visitors a chance to dance in the street while listening to the music they love and the music they love to hate.

The late nights
Róisín Dubh is one of Galway’s most popular late night venues. Wednesdays offer live music during the summer. Thursday bring new music to the scene offering unknown artists to play for free as part of the Strange Brew. On Fridays, the rotating resident bands perform in Róisín Dubh. Their resident bands include The Disconauts, Shuffle, 110th Street Presents the Hive and Mashole. Each performer offering a different sound of music from disco, house, hip-hop and electro-pop to soul and funk. Graham Dolan offers  a mix of indie, hip hop and funk downstairs each Saturday while Mick Data provides the dance and space disco upstairs.

The open mic Sundays
Each Sunday, Róisín Dubh offers an up and coming singer, comedian, dance or an actor the chance to show case their work to the public.

How to get there
Maldron Hotel Sandy Road is a short 10 minute drive away from Róisín Dubh. If you’re looking to dance the night away, a taxi rank is located to the front of the Hotel. Located Dominick Street Upper, Róisín Dubh is in the heart of the Galway Music scene and is a fantastic venue to start or end any night out.
