The Galway Jazz Festival presents a weekend of leading local, national and international jazz artists in a broad range of venues, throughout Galway City. Annually, the aim is to foster jazz as a contemporary art form in the West. Jazz admirers will have plenty to choose from in a line up that includes artists from Norway, The US, Germany, The UK and Italy and the best of Irish artists.
This year Galway Jazz Festival will be held from October 5th through 8th. The programme features double the number of headliners and includes shows in even more venues than ever before. The festival is proud to present a stellar list of jazz headliners including The Tommy Halferty Trio featuring John Ruocco, Pinto, OKO, Lakker, Tin Pan Alley, Éirú, The Youth Band & Greg Felton, The Danny Healy Group, The Plaza Piano Quartet with special guest Barbara Vulso, Cois Cladaigh & Carl Hession Trio and The Paul O’Driscoll Trio.
Shows will be held in your favourite venues including An Taibhdhearc, Druid Theatre, The Black Cat in Salthill, the Meyrick, Electric Garden, workshops in various schools in the city and county, as well as public spaces around the city.
Tickets range in price from €5 to €15 with some shows completely free of charge. Tickets are available online via GalwayJazzFest.com and the Town Hall Theatre.
