The Galway Continental Christmas Market is expected to make a return to the City Of The Tribes from 6pm on Friday 16th November until Friday 22nd December 2017.

This Christmas, the Galway Continental Christmas Market is expected to make a return to the City of the Tribes from Friday 16^th November until Friday 22^nd December 2017.

This year the Galway Continental Christmas Market is expected to be even larger and more popular than last year’s event which saw over 350,000 visitors, 50 wooden chalets located in Eyre Square along with the Santa’s Grotto, the German Bier Keller and numerous other theatrical delights and entertainment throughout the four week fair.

The 2017 Christmas Market will be the eighth year of the market in Galway and visitors can expect to enjoy a wide variety of entertainment and stalls located in Eyre Square in Galway City centre. This year young (and old!) can enjoy the old fashioned amusements featuring a Big Wheel, Helter Skelter and traditional Carousel! The Christmas Market Stage will play host to regular live music performers, school choirs, carol singing, puppet shows and storytelling, together with charity and community events. Once again, Santa’s Grotto will be run by local charities and you can enjoy warm mulled wine from the popular Bier Keller which will be playing host to various events throughout the Market’s duration.

The Galway Christmas Market will be a food lover’s dream – you can feast on a delicious home-cooked French pastries, pretzels or confectionery, crêpes and waffles, while beer lovers can sample a stein at the German Bierkeller which will offer a range of traditional German beers, apple cider and mulled wine.  The 2017 Market will also feature local and national artisan food products and Christmas gift ideas from both local and European traders.
